HIV + Me: Heartsong

Each year, the BRAC Center, a.k.a. Absolute Wellness of Atlanta, holds a 4 day retreat for HIV+ individuals to get away from the hassles of the outside world in hopes of each person finding and nourishing their private sense of well being. During the week, each participant secretly is given the name of another participant ... their "prayer buddy" ... in which they make a present with the promise to keep that person in their heart the following year. In this particular year, I did a comic strip featuring some of the lessons I realized my prayer buddy learned. I've redrawn it here, with the other person's identity kept confidential as he's here seen as one of those dumb-as-a-brick blond gym boys that often will stir my heart song.
